The piece ‘Containment of Time’ is an installation where a series of fan shaped modular pieces come together to create a partition system within a space - an extensive research of material done on pleated silk organza by using the traditional shibori dyeing technique. It allows for multiple configurations to meet the individual’s needs to make any space their own. This system and installation challenges the potential of soft goods within the interior space while enhancing the aesthetic appeal to the users. There is a subtle transition in the tones and hues of the fans as they flow from one to the other, indicating the passing of time and memories. I wanted to capture the essence of accumulated memories coming together to become a vessel for the containment of time.
